Join us for the CBA Trial Academy -- an intensive, 2-day skills training course for attorneys of all experience levels.
Join us for the CBA Trial Academy -- an intensive, 2-day skills training course for attorneys of all experience levels. Participants will be provided with two problems and a series of training videos to prepare in advance of the live program. On Day 1, the CBA’s experienced faculty members will discuss and conduct demonstrations of the following components of trial: Opening Statement, Direct Examination, Cross Examination, Closing Argument, and Trial Preparation. Participants will then break into small groups and each participant will conduct an actual Opening, Direct, etc. using materials provided in advance. Faculty members will provide each participant with feedback, tips, strategies and suggestions. On Day 2, participants will break into small groups to conduct a simulation of a bench trial.

Anne Haag is a Practice Management Advisor at the Chicago Bar Association. Anne worked as a patent paralegal at a Chicago IP firm before arriving at the CBA in 2017 as the Law Practice Management and Technology department’s trainer/coordinator. The Illinois Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) was signed into law in 2021. This seminar will discuss the consumer aspects of CEJA including energy pricing and assistance as well as renewable programs.
Signed into law in 2021, The Climate and Equitable Jobs Act targets Illinois to have some of the most significant clean energy and decarbonization commitments in the nation. It will require Illinois to be reliant on 100% renewable energy by 2050 and also provides $694 million in subsidies for nuclear power.
