Topic: Drafting Power of Attorney Documents Using Contract Express
Speaker: Eva Adams-Ward, Staff Attorney, The Center for Disability & Elder Law (CDEL)
Meeting Details: Conducted in coordination with the CDEL, this training will prepare attorneys to volunteer at the CDEL’s upcoming Power of Attorney Workshop—a one-stop event for clients needing to draft Powers of Attorney for Healthcare and Property. Attendees will learn how to draft advance directives using Contract Express, a program that facilitates estate planning document creation.
All CBA members are welcome, even if you do not wish to volunteer. IL MCLE credit is available for live webcast attendance (no credit for on demand webcast).
Volunteer Opportunity: You can put this training to use at the CDEL's Power of Attorney Workshop, held at Zelda Ormes Apartments (116 W Elm St, Chicago), from approximately 1:00 - 4:00 PM on November 16th. No estate planning knowledge is required. However, we do ask that all volunteers complete the training. CDEL staff will be on-site to answer questions and provide guidance.
To volunteer on November 16th, sign-up here: Day of Service with CDEL Volunteer Sign Up
Please note volunteer registration will remain open until November 9, 2026. We ask that you register early if you plan to volunteer.
