This is a hybrid program with a webcast and in-person option at The Chicago Bar Association (321 S. Plymouth Ct, Chicago, IL 60604). Please indicate if you will attend in-person when registering where indicated.
TOPIC: What can we learn about air pollution from a bird's-eye view?
While air pollution has greatly improved in recent decades, some regions are still plagued by poor air quality that exceeds national standards set by the U.S. EPA. This presentation will share what NASA is doing to provide unseen views of air pollution from a birds-eye view with satellites and aircraft. Attendees will hear about the role of satellites to better understand air quality, including NASA’s newest satellite, TEMPO, targeted activities in the Lake Michigan region with ground and airborne measurements, and how NASA has partnered with air quality managers and researchers to address the region’s unique air pollution challenges.
SPEAKER/ORGANIZATION: Laura Judd, PhD, Science Directorate of NASA Langley Research Center
