Voter Rights and Election Protections (5/3/24)

Law Week 2024: Voices of Democracy – Voter Rights and Election Protections

What better time to learn about the history of voting rights and the current state of the law in Illinois and Indiana than in an election year? Attorneys Clifford Helm, Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, and Meredith Zinanni, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, will present on this topic and discuss what challenges and opportunities they expect in the upcoming election. Together, attorneys from the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Kirkland & Ellis LLP operate the Election Protection hotline (866-OUR-VOTE) for voters calling with questions from Illinois and Indiana. Hear about opportunities to volunteer to support the hotline as a call center volunteer or as an in-person field volunteer (poll-watcher).
