Look Closer by David Ellis
Look Closer is a wickedly clever and fast-paced novel of greed, revenge, obsession—and quite possibly the perfect murder. The book centers on Simon and Vicky who couldn’t seem more normal: a wealthy Chicago couple, he a respected law professor, she an advocate for domestic violence victims. But when the body of a beautiful socialite is found hanging in a mansion in a nearby suburb, Simon and Vicky’s secrets begin to unravel. About David Ellis:
Illinois Appellate Court Justice David Ellis is an Edgar-award-winning author of nine novels of crime fiction, as well as five books co-authored with James Patterson. In December, 2014, Dave was sworn in as the youngest-serving Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court for the First District.
The Chief Justices by Daniel Cotter
The Chief Justices examines the position of U.S. Chief Justice more closely, delving into the position's origins and duties and exploring the court under seventeen chiefs. Exploration includes the background and careers of the chiefs before becoming Chief Justice, discusses the cultural times and puts their rise and tenure in our nation's context, while discussing some of the key associate justices who sat with each of the seventeen. Each chapter also focuses on some key decisions of the Chief Justices' courts.
