SCOTUS, College Admissions, and Affirmative Action - Past, Present, and Future
Following the ruling in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, 600 U.S. 181(2023), the Supreme Court has deemed the consideration of race in university admissions decisions unconstitutional. This landmark decision not only challenges affirmative action as a means to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) but also prompts a reevaluation of its implications for undergraduate and law school admissions. This lesson examines the impact of this ruling on admissions processes for both undergraduate and graduate programs, and also assesses the evolving landscape and strategize on how to align with the new legal framework while still fostering a commitment to DEI.
This program is co-sponsored with Albanian American Bar Association.
