This program is intended to serve as a guide for attorneys practicing in the trusts and estates area regarding the changing landscape of families and assets. 

The goals of the program are: To walk through early steps to take when a client dies, provide an overview of probate, assist attorneys in the determination of when a Federal and/or Illinois estate tax return is required to be filed, QTIP elections and other important information for these returns, and dealing with dueling beneficiaries, assets outside Illinois and closely held businesses.
