Research shows that eight in 10 women will end up alone and solely responsible for their finances. Yet many women don’t participate in financial decisions that impact their future, including female attorneys who are often also responsible for financial matters related to their practice. The latest report in our “Own your worth” series explores why the pattern continues, how Covid-19 is reinforcing gender stereotypes, and why both women and men believe joint financial decisions are so important. Consideration of these issues can improve women’s ability to achieve better balance in life and in legal practice as they work toward their retirement.
