Family Offices: Building Structures for Lasting Change (9/19/25)

Includes a Live In-Person Event on 09-19-2025 at 12:00 PM (CDT)

This is an in-person program hosted at The Chicago Bar Association building (321 S. Plymouth Court, Chicago, IL 60604). Lunch will be provided.

In an era where families of wealth are not just funding change, but building the systems that make it possible, structure matters more than ever. This panel brings together legal, financial, and operational architects behind innovative social enterprises, with a focus on LiftUp Communities and LiftUp Enterprises, a pioneering hybrid model launched with the contributions of families. Through this case study, we’ll explore how families are moving beyond grantmaking to create integrated nonprofit and for-profit structures that self-sustain, scale, and endure. Panelists will discuss the legal frameworks enabling this complexity, the role of system orchestration in connecting capital to impact, and how family offices can use structure as a lever for long-term, systemic transformation. This program will include a panel discussion and luncheon included with registration.

Takeaways include:
• How hybrid structures enable both philanthropic and earned revenue strategies
• Legal and governance considerations in system design
• The role of family offices as conveners, funders, and system builders
• Lessons from LiftUp: pitfalls, pivots, and possibilities

Speakers:
