Future of the DREAMers Act (4/8/25)

This panel discussion will highlight the key issues surrounding the “DREAM” Act a.k.a. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which faces an uncertain future. The presentation will begin by discussing DACA’s limitations, which creates adversity for the approximately 530,000 DACA recipients that live in the United States, as well as many others that are eligible to apply for DACA. The CLE will then explore DACA’s impact on the livelihoods of DACA recipients, including family, education, travel and employment. Lastly, the presentation will focus on the administrative challenges that DACA has faced and the current outlook of the program. If time allows, members of the audience may also have the opportunity to ask panelists questions. HLAI will co-host the CLE.
