Topic: Standards Are Already Here: From Cloud Marketplaces to Agent-to-Agent
Speaker: Todd Smithline, Founder and CEO, Bonterms
Program Description: Standard end user agreements have long been used in cloud marketplaces. Todd Smithline, CEO and Founder of Bonterms, will show how Bonterms expanded that model into a complete commercial contracting system available to any two parties, anywhere. He will explain how Bonterms' library of Standard Agreements, covering SaaS, software, services, AI, DPAs, BAAs, and NDAs, was developed, how anyone can deploy the free system, and how the same standards are laying the groundwork for agent-to-agent contracting.
Speaker Bio: Todd Smithline is the CEO and founder of Bonterms, a contracting platform built on neutral, open-source Standard Agreements developed by committees of leading tech lawyers. Bonterms is the Standard Agreement of the Google Cloud and Atlassian Marketplaces and is used by thousands of companies globally. Todd has spent roughly 30 years designing contracting systems for leading technology companies, including Adobe, Atlassian, Facebook, Google, Snowflake, and Plaid. He was previously General Counsel of Marimba through and after its IPO. Todd is a Continuing Lecturer at UC Berkeley School of Law, where he designed and teaches the Technology Transactions course.
