We will also discuss the innovative model of providing legal aid for eviction matters in Cook County where all unrepresented parties have access to limited legal assistance through the Cook County Legal Aid for Housing and Debt (CCLAHD) program and a more limited pool of tenants in Chicago who are screened as needing further assistance have access to extended legal representation through the City of Chicago’s “right to counsel” pilot program that is integrated into the CCLAHD program.
