Do You Want to Know a Secret:  Changes to the Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act  

Join us to discuss Public Act 103-0474, in part, amended the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act by establishing a new category of persons entitled (upon request) to inspect and copy a recipient’s record or any part of the same. The intersection of HIPAA and the revised Illinois Statute has significant implications on access to records, particularly for minors ages 12 – 17 years.
