“Uniformity and mental health are incompatible too. . . Man is not made to be an automaton, and if he becomes one, the basis for mental health is destroyed.” – Aldous Huxley
Mental health parity describes the equal treatment of mental health conditions and substance use disorders in insurance plans. With the changing landscape of State and Federal Law, what can we expect from insurance coverage now and in the future.
Artificial intelligence is an essential tool for all disciplines, including medicine. Should mental health practice be different than other medical practices? How will it be regulated and should it be? Are current laws up to speed with the use of AI for notetaking, diagnosis, and therapy?
Topics and Speakers:
The Current State of Mental Health Parity Law and Its Future
Jenny M. Burke, J.D., M.S., State Policy and Project Director, The Kennedy Forum
Mark J. Heyrman, Mental Health America of Illinois
Artificial Intelligence and its Growing Presence in the Treatment of Mental Health
John W. Whitcomb, Monahan Law Group
Matthew R. Davison, Monahan Law Group
Moderator:
Joseph C.F. Willuweit, Monahan Law Group
