This seminar will discuss handling the basic types of adoption that a practitioner new to this area may encounter, including related and adult adoptions.  Topics include the current climate of adoption, new procedures in Cook County adoption court due to the pandemic, cases to avoid, representing same gender parents, being appointed to represent indigent parents in a contested adoption and estate planning considerations in adoption and assisted reproductive technology.
