The History and Achievements of Asian American Women Lawyers
This is an in-person program hosted at The Chicago Bar Association building (321 S. Plymouth Court, Chicago, IL 60604).
Join us for a screening of the new video about the history and achievements of Asian American women lawyers. Did you know that the first Asian American woman lawyer was a Chicagoan? Are you familiar with the leadership of Asian American women lawyers who have been elected to public office? What about Asian American women lawyers in private practice and those leading civil rights and social justice efforts? Who are these women and what are their stories? After the screening, hear from a panel of prominent Asian American women lawyers about what they take away from the film and the future for Asian American women lawyers and their leadership.
Panelists:
Ann H. Chen
Avani Patel, Supervising Senior Attorney, Illinois Court Help and Program Manager, Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession
Additional panelists TBD
This program is co-sponsored by Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession and the National Association of Women Lawyers.
