Topic: AI Assistants in the Justice System: How They Work and Why it Matters
Speaker: Charles W. Mulaney
Speaker Bio: Charles (Chip) Mulaney is a criminal defense attorney, trial litigator, and a former federal prosecutor. Chip was an Assistant United States Attorney for eleven years in Savannah, Georgia and Chicago, Illinois. Before that, Chip practiced white collar criminal defense and litigation at Perkins Coie LLP, and clerked for the Honorable Mark Filip in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. While he was an Assistant United States Attorney in Chicago, Chip was a member of the Sentencing Alternatives to Achieve Results (SOAR) team, which is an 18-month intensive court supervision program in which successfully graduating defendants are guaranteed no jail time.
