    When can competitors collaborate to pursue environmental and sustainability goals, and when can that collaboration raise antitrust issues?  In March, the European Commission’s new draft Horizontal Guidelines introduced an entire chapter on assessing agreements between firms that collaboratively pursue sustainability objectives.  While sustainability has not historically been a focus of US antitrust enforcement, as US policymakers reexamine the consumer welfare standard, firms seeking to collaborate on sustainability initiatives are urgently seeking guidance.  This panel will explore various legal and economic angles related to this emerging and important topic.
