The Reminders app is great for making a grocery list, for example, but can also be a great task management tool for lawyers. Join us for the CBA Trial Academy -- an intensive,  2-day skills training course for attorneys of all experience levels. On Day 1, the CBA’s experienced faculty members will discuss and conduct demonstrations of the following components of trial: Opening Statement, Direct Examination, Cross Examination, Closing Argument, and Trial Preparation. Participants will then break into small groups and each participant will conduct an actual Opening, Direct, etc. using materials provided in advance. Faculty members will provide each participant with feedback, tips, strategies and suggestions. On Day 2, participants will break into small groups to conduct a simulation of a bench trial.

A live commentator will be available for Q&A. Attorneys who have received Illinois MCLE Credit for watching the December 12, 2023 program cannot receive credit for re-watching this webinar. The CBA's sexual harassment prevention training session for managers will better enable lawyers and law firm staff who serve in managerial or supervisory roles to prevent, combat and appropriately redress sexual harassment in the legal workplace. The CBA’s training session meets the minimum requirements set forth by City of Chicago (Municipal Code of Chicago Section 6-10-040(b)(1)(C)(i)(b)) that anyone who supervises or manages employees shall participate in a second hour of sexual harassment prevention training geared toward managers/supervisors annually. 

Each attorney registration includes access for 5 additional law firm staff members to complete the training. Additional staff members may be registered for a fee of $25 per every 5 registrants. Staff member participation at the live replay program will be tracked through the CBA’s webcasting system and a list can be furnished upon request to cle@chicagobar.org. **Although the CBA will provide a sample certificate of completion, employer-participants, not CBA nor its volunteer trainers, are responsible for ensuring each of their employees satisfy the training requirements under applicable state law/municipal code** Please email cle@chicagobar.org to be provided a link to register additional staff members for the webinar.
