Strategies for Lawyers To Destress During the Workday (5/12/2021)
The CBA and Black Women Lawyers Association of Greater Chicago are joining forces for a discussion about why it’s important for lawyers to develop mental and physical strategies to de-stress throughout the workday. The intrinsic demands of the legal profession place pressure on the nervous system which can activate the ‘fight or flight’ response. Being in a constant state of ‘fight or flight’ not only causes anxiety and harms the body, but it can reduce overall productivity. Kenyatta Beverly, current President of BWLA, will moderate a discussion with Diane Fidler, MPT and Owner of Core Fitness and Physical Therapy about strategies for lawyers to control the stress response, curb anxiety, and achieve greater balance and fulfillment at work.
