Police Reform in Chicago: CPAC or GAPA? (9/8/20)
The movement to reform the Chicago Police Department has recently gained significant momentum after days of protests and looting occurred following the killing of George Floyd while in police custody. But politicians and citizens have yet to reach a consensus on how the City of Chicago can meaningfully change the way it polices its residents. This program will examine and debate the most recent efforts that have come to the forefront–the Civilian Police Accountability Council (CPAC) and Grassroots Alliance for Police Accountability (GAPA)–with local politicians on both sides of the issue.
