Litigating in the Age of COVID (03/24/2021)

Litigating in the Age of COVID: the Expert Perspective on Medical Malpractice, Work Accident, and Mass Torts Cases

In March 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, courtrooms across the country temporarily closed. Lawsuits and trials were put on hold, as attorneys and Judges across the country – and in Cook County – were forced to change the way in which cases were litigated and tried. The Chicago Bar Association has put together a panel of some of the most experienced litigators and Judge to provide insight into how medical malpractice, work accident, and mass torts cases have been litigated in the age of COVID, how litigation has changed, and what we can expect in a post-COVID world. Our all-star panelists will also share pre-COVID litigation and trial war stories involving these practice areas, discussing a variety of topics including: pre-suit investigations, filing complaints, discovery tips, retaining qualified experts, preparing for trial, and presenting your medical malpractice, work accident, and/or mass torts case and/or defense in front of a jury.
