LGBTQ+ Etiquette: Interactions Within the Judicial Process (06/03/22)

LGBTQ+ etiquette has become an increasingly important topic, especially as we all begin transitioning from Zoom back into the courtroom.  As such, those in and around the courtroom will be looking to judges and attorneys to understand courtroom decorum. The use of inclusive language is an important start but what else is needed?  And more importantly what other resources are available and who are the individuals actively promoting LGBTQ+ etiquette in the courtroom and beyond?

We will hear from several judges and attorneys both from Illinois and beyond as they discuss their own personal experiences and what kind of training and materials they use to educate and create a courtroom that treats all with dignity and respect.
