Commentary and Conversation Series: Hate and What You Can Do About It - Part 1 (10/06/2021)

The CBA’s Diversity, Inclusion, Culture, Equity and Engagement Program (D.I.C.E.) seeks to go beyond just talking about hate to educating and equipping lawyers so they may individually address and challenge anti-minority attitudes and sentiments. D.I.C.E. believes that preventing hate begins with awareness, acknowledgment, and, ultimately, self-reflection.

This fall, D.I.C.E. will present a two-part series focused on hate and hate crimes entitled, “Commentary and Conversation: Hate and What You Can Do About It.” This first session will focus on local anti-Jewish, anti-Muslim, and anti-LGBTQ+ hatred with leaders from area civil rights organizations. After a general overview of the current climate, lawyers who belong to the groups will lead break-outgroups delving into how lawyers can be allies in the struggle against hate in all its forms.
