    As we welcome the new year, many of us will identify resolutions and other goals we want to accomplish in the coming months. Unfortunately, studies suggest that a huge majority of people—up to 80% will give up on them by the end of February, with only an estimated 8% sticking to their resolutions throughout the whole year.

    Ring in the New Year with Intrinsic Motivation to Make Your Resolutions Stick

    As we welcome the new year, many of us will identify resolutions and other goals we want to accomplish in the coming months.  Unfortunately, studies suggest that a huge majority of people—up to 80% will give up on them by the end of February, with only an estimated 8% sticking to their resolutions throughout the whole year.

    Join us in this interactive workshop, where we will explore strategies and techniques to leverage intrinsic motivation to better accomplish our personal and professional goals, and help us break through any procrastination that has been holding us back from getting through our to-do lists.

    During this program, attendees will:
    -Learn about three different types of internal motivators and how each one can help spur us to action (or break down the barriers that cause inaction);
    -Gain a better understanding of the differences between intrinsic and extrinsic motivators, their impact on productivity, and how they can be harmonized; and
    -Practice evidence-based techniques to apply these strategies to a resolution or goal that they are working through (or would like to start working on)

    Speaker:
    Jonathan Beitner is the Founder of Beitner Coaching & Consulting.  Jonathan is a frequent speaker and author on topics related to the intersection of professional development and well-being.  He helps individuals identify and achieve their goals, and works with firms, law schools, and Fortune 500 companies to help their lawyers, students, and staff be more productive, happier, and healthier through individual coaching and evidence-based group programming. The CBA's sexual harassment prevention training session will better enable lawyers and law firm staff to prevent, combat and appropriately redress sexual harassment in the legal workplace, as well as understand the State of Illinois and City of Chicago’s requirements. The CBA’s training session meets the minimum requirements set forth by the State of Illinois (Illinois Public Act 1010-0221) and City of Chicago (Municipal Code of Chicago Section 6-10-040(b)(1)(C)(i)(a)) that all Illinois employers and employees must complete sexual harassment prevention training annually and is tailored to lawyers and other law firm staff.

    Each attorney registration includes access for 5 additional law firm staff members to complete the training. Additional staff members may be registered for a fee of $25 per every 5 registrants. Staff member participation at the program will be tracked through the CBA’s webcasting system and a list can be furnished upon request to cle@chicagobar.org. **Although the CBA will provide a sample certificate of completion, employer-participants, not CBA nor its volunteer trainers, are responsible for ensuring each of their employees satisfy the training requirements under applicable state law/municipal code** Please email cle@chicagobar.org to be provided a link to register additional staff members for the webinar.
